The Town of Brookhaven announces the united efforts of several Long Island music and cultural organizations, to present a benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Katrina on Saturday October 1st., 2005, from 4PM – 10PM.

The benefit will be held at the 7000 seat Brookhaven Amphitheatre Arts & Cultural Center in Farmingville, NY, and will be supported by the following organizations: the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, Long Island Blues Society, Long Island Music Support Network, Folk Music Society of Huntington, Greater Port Jefferson/Northern Brookhaven Arts Council, Suffolk Community College, Urban League, Sam Ash Music, Promotions Associates, Grucci Fireworks, Q104.3, WBAB, WUSB, B103 and WCWP - with more sponsors coming aboard each day. Parties interested in sponsoring the event are urged to contact Jim Faith immediately.

The Town of Brookhaven and the allied organizations will donate 100% of all proceeds to the benefit the relief and rebuilding efforts; with 50% to the American Red Cross and 50% to the Habitat for Humanity.

There will be further details regarding artists performing and special guests later this week.
